When a WordPress Plugin breaks your website

Has this ever happened to you? You install a new WordPress plugin (or upgrade a plugin you are already using) and all of a sudden your website is throwing up errors. In fact, it’s so bad that you can’t even log in to the WordPress dashboard to disable the plugin. Is your WordPress website broken beyond repair? Of course not. WordPress Triggering McAfee VBS\Psyme VirusSDcan Alert

Another Sunday night rolls around and I’m blogging on the couch, occasionally switching channels between to less than average movies. This substantial change to their search algorithm has wreaked havoc for many webmasters, but the strategy is sound; Google simply aims to provide the best search results for any query. The main victim in this update has been the so-called “content farms” which provide text that may appear relevant for a certain query, but does not provide the best user experience. Google calls it a...

Basic SEO Principles for WordPress Blogs

Posted by on Jun 2, 2009 in WordPress | 0 comments

WordPress is a free and open source blog publishing application. For a free and open source program, it is extremely powerful. I use it almost exclusively, not just for blogs but as a Content Management System (CMS). One of the reasons I use it so frequently is because the search engines – especially Google – seems to love the pages it builds. It creates a linking structure that makes it easy for spiders to crawl your pages, and the code rarely contains validation errors. After your initial install, there are a few additional steps that you can take in order to make your WordPress...
